Why September?
We're timing our opening with one of Chincoteague's best-kept secrets — the reopening of "the Hook" and the OSV zone on Assateague Island, which closes each spring to protect nesting shorebirds and reopens right around September 1. It's the perfect time to have the island (and the channel) to yourself.
